Venue and travel
King’s Hall, Newcastle University
Newcastle Upon Tyne
The Armstrong building is opposite the Royal Victoria Infirmary. The postcode for the Armstrong Building is: NE1 7RU
The King’s Hall has very limited public parking, in front of the Armstrong Building at weekends. Unless you are planning on arriving very early, do not plan to park here. There are public carparks on Claremont Road; at the RVI hospital (quite expensive) and there is various on-street parking in the vicinity (please be sure to check the terms and conditions to avoid fines).
The King’s Hall is only a short walk from the Haymarket Metro and Bus Stations so you may prefer to use public transport.
Eating and Drinking
Tea and coffee will be available to purchase in the morning break and during the lunch break. If you have purchased a Voices of Hope travel mug at a previous event don’t forget to bring it and drink tea/coffee for free! There will be travel mugs available to purchase on the day.
Lunch will not be provided so please either bring a packed lunch or use one of the many eateries in Newcastle City Centre (a short walk from the King’s Hall). We recommend Quilliam Brothers Teahouse on the university campus which serves excellent food and over 60 types of tea!
What to wear?
There is no dress code for this event. Please wear comfortable clothes for singing! Please note that there will not be a performance at the end of the workshop so you won’t need your concert clothes. Please avoid wearing perfume/cologne as it can cause difficulties for some singers.
All sheet music will be provided for you on the day. In this case we will be using a single volume containing a wide range of Ēriks’ music, published by Musica Baltica. If you would like to keep your music, it will be available to purchase on the day. Otherwise please return it at the end of the event.
Have a great day of singing!
We hope you have a really inspirational day with Ēriks. Your accompanist at the piano will be the brilliant Alison Gill. My team will be happy to help you in any way we can so please let us know if you need anything!
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at if you have any questions before the day.
Please let us know if you require any special considerations.
With best wishes,
Music Director - Voices of Hope
